Abstract

(The Northern Natuna sea (ZEE) is currently experiencing a high intensity of illicit fishing operations crimes committed by foreignersfishing boats. The existence of this problem of illegal fishing illustrates a form of non-military threat, that will substantially have a negative impact on the country. Fishing crimes have implications that are not only limited to damage and reduction of fishing potential, but there is also a violation of the sovereign right of a country to manage its marine resources. Therefore, law enforcement be executed with a great level of rigor. In order to enforce the law, a comprehensive Marine Police strategy is needed to ensure that the Northern Natuna Sea ZEE is safe from illegal fishing. The aim of this study is to examine the tactics applied by Marine Police in enforcing law enforcement of illicit fishing operations by foreigners fishing boats in the Northern Natuna Sea ZEE. The research method used is qualitative analytics using Miles Huberman's data processing and analysis techniques. According to the findings, Marine Police has investigative authority to oversee the waters to continue to improve law enforcement by addressing the problem of illegal fishing. The strategy of the Marine Police execution of the law in the in Northern Natuna ZEE is to consider the means of patrol ships, special material support tools, and support technology, competent personnel and ship crew, and ways of cooperating with organizations that implement the law in compliance with the provisions of the law. Getting community support in carrying out operational and investigative tasks, increasing water and air patrols, and detecting crime in the waters. These things are done to keep ZEE Northern Natuna free from the crime of theft by illegal foreign ships).
